Wireless headphones
One for the WHO music mob. Talk to me about wireless headphones, want some over ear ones just for around the house and garden. Not looking to spend any more than £180 or so.

Seen these on amazon which get decent enough reviews, any of them worth a punt?

Re: Wireless headphones
i've got some beats wireless ones, they work great but they are massive. get the ones with the wire instead.

Re: Wireless headphones
I found beats headphones once. Right result. Apart from the fact they didn't fit my tiny ears properly and kept falling out because they're so weighty.

Re: Wireless headphones
I've got those Sennheiser-RS-180s primarily so I can watch the telly when the missus goes to bed and they sound absolutely lovely but their range is not brilliant.

I had a cheaper pair of Sennheisers before and they would work all over my not particularly big flat but with the RS180s there are a few dead-spots around my gaff where they drop signal. Like I say though, they sound lovely and if they broke I'd go out and buy them again as I use them virtually every night.

I've had a complete mare trying headphones for the gym though as I mostly watch films on my phone and headphones are seldom loud enough or pop out of my ears when I sweat. I must have tried 15 pairs including Jaybird Bluebuds which are Bluetooth and recommended by the American marathon running association (or someone) and they slip out of my ears too. Oh, and they sound shit.

The problem is that I've got a pair of Sure SE535s inner-earphones that were stupidly expensive but sound wonderful (once you get a good fit). I always end up going back to those and the gym has fucking knackered them. I'm currently using K Sound sports headphones that are nice and loud, don't fall out and cost eight quid.

I've made a short story long I know but the point is that headphones are a personal thing and the bastard is that you don't know you're going to get on with them until you buy them and don't get on with them.

Re: Wireless headphones
chim, are the 180s primarily for TV, or are they perfectly fine for music as well? I wouln't use them for TV to be honest so I'm steering towards the Bose ones for that reason.

Re: Wireless headphones
I've got a Pioneer AV amp they plug into and there's music over everything I watch so there's not much difference between TV and pure music sources. I DO listen to music on them though and I'm a proper picky cunt when it comes to audio having worked in recording studios and video production.

Like I say though it's a personal choice. For instance, some people love the sound of Beats but I think they are too brash. I like a bit of subtlety sometimes. Most headphones seem very bass-heavy.

Beats headphones have the audio quality of a pair of £25 Sony's. They are awful.

Seen a lot of people say Beats are shit. The Sennheisers get good reviews but they're not Bluetooth which is what I'm after.

Beats are horrific, but oddly Monster headphones are really good.

Like most things that are popular people will say they are shit to look 'cool'. They're fine, will replace them if they break within a couple of years too.

Fair enough. To be honest I doubt if notice any difference between a £150 pair and a £400 pair, either sounds good or it doesn't. They're a bit pricier though, don't think they're under £200 for a wireless pair.

Re: Wireless headphones
I have tested various wired and wireless beats headphones. The bass is overpowering to the point of distortion, the sound becomes unclear and unbalanced.
They are a fashion accessory.

I have a battered pair of Bose OEs that are clinging on for dear life that shit sound so nice, I hate it when I hear the same music through other means as it just doesn't sound as good.

Horses for courses and all that, but Beats are well marketed, they're not a good product.

Re: Wireless headphones
I tried out the Beats headphones in the Apple store, thought they were quite good. I wouldn't want them as 1) you look a tit with them on 2) pricey for what they are.

Had a pair of Bose headphones for over 10 years and they still sound good.

Re: Wireless headphones
Just went out and tried some beats, sounded decent enough but reckon they'd become a bit uncomfortable after a while. Opted for some Bose soundlink instead.

Re: Wireless headphones
I've got these & really don't rate them, they are nowhere as good as wired headphones quality wise!
